Getting ready for the Motobuilt 2017 in Manila. Just registered the Honda Dax in the classic bike category for the Motobuilt Pilipinas this weekend.
Except for the rear shocks and the exhaust pipe the Dax is finished.
The Phoenix, Getting there. Oversized piston with 85 ccm instead of 70. 4 gear gearbox instead of the 3 original gears. Should be fun. I am in for the original. 6V electrical system, even if it is pretty shitty. New ignition switch with hight switch included. Original Honda stickers The most difficult things to get, […]
I got tired of the Chinese engine, the yearly trouble to get the engine stencilled separately, and wanted to have in registered in my name. And if I fix things, I fix them properly.
I fixed the Honda Dax engine because I have problems every year getting it registered with the LIFAN replacement.
First it ran for a few seconds then died. Spark plug did not produce sparks anymore. Fitted a new one, and it runs beautifully. Both lamps indicated that alternator works too. And oil reached the rocker arms. Perfect.
Re-assembled the Dax engine after getting the parts from Loy and from Germany. Replaced the 3 gears with 4 and fitted an 88ccm cylinder/piston, racing camshaft and a few other ‘improvements’.
