IRRI type Hydrotiller demonstration in Lampung, Indonesia, 1997-2001, ATIAMI Project
The hydrotiller is an agricultural machine for land preparation in flooded rice fields. It was designed by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). This video was taken by the Indonesian-German Assistance to the Indonesian Agricultural Machinery Industry (ATIAMI) project, which introduced the machine to West Sumatra and South Sulawesi, sometime between 1997 to 2001. As of November 2010 there are two manufacturers of hydrotillers in West Sumatra making around 1,000 hydrotillers every year
