Unfortunately the regatta was cancelled because of the coronavirus lockdown. We keep this blog entry anyway.
Planning the Regatta
The announcement of the Puerto Galera Yacht Club (PGYC) Easter Regatta is out.
Since Miriam is still in the UK, Martin is going to be skipper this year. The regatta is in its 29th year and will be held on the Easter Weekend from Friday 10th April to Sunday 12th of April 2020. The regatta is a 3 day event with races on each day. On the second day there is usually a party at the PGYC club house.
Magayon II Crew
We already have a core crew of three, but we can still offer some space for some additional crew. Let us know if you are interested. If three days is too long you can also just join any of the three days. Ideally we have a crew of between 3 and 5.

Accommodation
You need to book accommodation soon since on Easter everything is usually brooked well in advance. Some places close to the Yacht Club. The Gummerts with some friends have booked a two bedroom house in walking distance.
There are still lots of places available on Bookings.com.
Some places close by:
Sand bar, walking distance. Has a beach, restaurant and swimming pool. Has seen better times though.
Happy Budda Inn, very cheap, less than 3,000 pesos for 3 nights. Walking distance.

“Dear Members and Friends of PGYC,
Invitation to the PGYC Easter Regatta 2020
The Philippines’ longest established regatta for racing and cruising yachts is now in its 29th year and will be held on the Easter Weekend from Friday 10th April to Sunday 12th of April 2020.
We are looking forward to three days of excellent sailing followed by great social times ashore and, as always, it is your participation together with that of your boat’s company that will make the regatta such a great event.
The Notice of Race (attached) gives details of the regatta and further information will be published on the PGYC website at www.pgyc.org from time to time.
Please note that the number of moorings available for participants is very limited and available moorings will be allocated on a “first-paid first-served” basis. Also a gentle reminder that the cut-off-date for payment to qualify for the Early Bird discount is Friday 20th March 2020.
