Silent Hectic Racing Alternator

More power for the rubber cow.

Fitting the Silent Hectic Racing Alternator to my BMW R75/5

I often ended up with empty battery when driving with the lights on. I had installed a Siebenrock Power Kit which gives the cow lots of power / torqe at very low revs. I also converted the headlight to H4 so it consumes more power than the original. Last not least I live in the Philippines, meaning that I can’t drive very fast because the roads are very bad and drivers are completely unpredictable, most of them don’t follow rules and ignore motorbikes. So I mostly cruise around at very low revs. Unfortunately the old BOSCH alternator with 250W performs very poorly under such conditions. So after searching he Internet for all sorts of possible solutions I decided to just buy the Silent Hectic racing alternator with 370W. I got it sent to my address in Germany and then took it with me after a trip to Germany.

Installation

I bought the kit without the electronic ignition. It contains all parts and cables needed for the conversion.
